Tailing

Terms of service.

Last updated: September 8, 2026

The service

Tailing provides a personal flight-history logbook: authenticated accounts, manual flight entry, bulk CSV import, a searchable dashboard, a 3D hangar view of aircraft types flown, and an authenticated API for your own integrations. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.

Your account

  • You sign in with a third-party provider (Google or X) and are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Keep your provider account secure; notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
  • One account per person for personal, non-commercial use unless we agree otherwise.

Your content

Flight records, notes, and files you enter or upload remain yours. You grant us only the license needed to store, display, and back up that content as part of operating the service. You are responsible for ensuring the content you upload is accurate and that you have the right to store it — do not upload anyone else’s private information.

Acceptable use

  • Use the service lawfully and only for its intended purpose.
  • Do not attempt to access other users’ data, probe or disrupt the service, or abuse the API.
  • Do not misrepresent flight records or use the service to deceive others.

Availability and changes

Tailing is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and will make reasonable efforts to preserve access to your data. We may update these terms; material changes will be noted here with a new date, and continued use after they take effect constitutes acceptance.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (Tailing is currently free, so that amount is zero). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data — keep your own backups of important records.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination for any reason, your right to use the service ends; contact us for full data deletion as described in the privacy policy.
